Summer Sails, Tuna, Mahi and more

Hello fish fans, welcome to our Stuart Florida Fishing report. May didn’t produce the red hot dolphin bite we expected. Scattered weeds from the constantly changing winds scattered the dolphin bite so one day we’d catch 6 or 8 and the next day be lucky to catch one. June and July offers a wide variety of fish, we’ll be catching sailfish, mahi mahi, tuna, wahoo, blue marlin, kingfish, cobia, amberjack, bonito, snappers and groupers.

The summer sailfish bite off the coast of Stuart Florida is excellent. You don’t have to get bounced around in the winter seas to catch a few sailfish like some will tell you. On an average day we’ll catch one or two sailfish during the summer months and three to five on a good day. July is an excellent month to catch a few Stuart Florida Sailfish so give us a call and we’ll hook you up.

The dolphin bite’s been good, bad and some days flat out ugly. We’re catching a few more lately and hoping for continued improvement. Most of the dolphin we’ve been catching are 5 to 10 pounds, a couple of 15/20.

There’s been a good blackfin tuna bite on the hill 10 miles offshore on most days, especially during the week when the boat traffic is lighter. Mostly football size tuna of 4 to 6 pounds with a few 15 to 20 pound tuna in the mix.

On the reefs and wrecks we’re catching, sailfish, bonito, kingfish, cobia and amberjack.
