Summer Sails and Mutttons

Welcome to our Stuart Florida and Bahamas Fishing Reports. On the Stuart Florida side of the gulfstream we’ve been catching sailfish, kingfish, cobia, amberjack and bonito along the reefs and wrecks. Dolphin, tuna and sailfish in the deeper waters of the gulfstream. The sailfish bite is good so if you always wanted to catch a sailfish but don’t like the choppy seas of winter now’s the time to give us a call and get hooked up.

The dolphin and tuna bite has been hit and miss. We’ll catch a dozen blackfin tuna on the hill one day and struggle to catch one the next. Packs of schooling size dolphin are starting to slide north in the deeper waters of the gulfstream. Most of these dolphin will be found 15 to 25 miles offshore this month on scattered weeds and debris.

On the Bahamas side last week we found a slower than usual tuna bite, only a couple of dolphin and no blue marlin bites. The mutton snapper on the other we’re all fired up and chewin. We only had one mutton under 10 pounds and the largest was 20. Most of the muttons are 12 to 18 pounds and fight even bigger. Our Bahamas fishing Adventures are customized for your fishing interests and you can take your pick or try to catch them all: Trolling for dolphin, tuna, wahoo and marlin. Deep dropping electric reels or light tackle reef and bottom fishing.
