The Cobia fishing off the coast of Stuart FL. is excellent on the reefs and wrecks from Jensen Beach, FL. to Jupiter, FL. Often times they show up during the winter months but the spring and summer months are the best. During the springtime giant Manta Rays will show up with hundreds of Cobia in tow. There’ll be days when the Cobia are lined up on a current edge in 50 to 80 feet of water for miles and most of them will have Cobia stacked up underneath them.
Site fishing for Cobia
Site fishing for Cobia under the Manta Rays is the most exciting way to catch them. Once located we’re throwing Cobia Jigs, Lures and Live Baits towards the Rays and hooking up 30 to 60 pound Cobia. These Cobia will be dropping off the Rays probably because of the fishing pressure and will be scattered about on all reefs and wrecks off the coast of Stuart, Florida. Packs of Cobia will also be found traveling down the beaches of Hutchinson Island from Stuart to Jensen Beach, Florida offering another site fishing adventure. Live bait fishing on the reefs and wrecks for Cobia is very productive during the spring and summer months. Cobia have a minimum size limit of 33 inches and only one per person per day.
